After an entire week in gestation, the time has finally come to initiate the extraction protocol. I have been waiting for this moment with bated breath. This being had a very poor chance of survival due to severe damage to the ovum. In the attached video document you can see the extraction of Specimen 02 from the birthing canister. Watch as the sample is raised from the hazy water. As you may have discerned from previous entries in this, the second incubation log, the creature in question is of the same origin species as Specimen 01. It is however dramatically larger! The pungent odour that was present early on in the embryo’s developmental cycle has given way to the now familiar and strangely sweet scent of a newborn entity of this kind. Once traces of the shell have been removed and the specimen has acclimatised to its new surroundings, I will make another log entry.
